Move

I would never recommend this company ever——beware!!!! I booked two moves within the same week. On a Sunday, I had things moved from my home and booked four hours to move. The movers finished two hours early. Following that, I moved more things on the next Wednesday. The movers started at 6:36 am. I was told that I got 3 1/2 hours of moving time with thirty minutes to drive to the location. I was moving within the 30 miles allowed, but it took about an hour to get to the destination, so because of traffic (not my fault), I lost 1/2 hour. At 10:06, they came to me and said my credit card was declined to pay for additional time that would be needed. Now after having not used two hours on a previous move a few days earlier, they tried to charge my card without asking me telling they needed more time to put the beds together. I said but I already paid for two hours that I didn’t get any moving. Plus I didn’t understand how moving began at 6:36 and at 10:06 the window was closing. If the move included 3 1/2 hours of moving, and 1/2 drive time, it’s still a 4 hour window so they should have kept moving and should have finished by 10:36, not 10:06. He said there was another 1/2 hour built in for their drive home. They added that at their convenience. Never heard of that before. So the hour drive it took to my house plus the half hour for them to get home left me with 2Hours of actual moving time, which was not the three 1/2 hours promised. So I paid $85 to get another half hour of moving. I was also charged a $25 fee for using a different credit card to pay for this extra half hour. There were a box of wine glasses that were broken during the move. When I inquired about replacing them, I was told they compensate 60 cents a pound. It was just unreal. When I was approached about my card not going through for the extra half hour, both beds were not put together and they told me they’d have to leave them like that if I didn’t pay. One of the movers said it was his company, but I doubt it because he said he was being forced to stop the move. I couldn’t believe they were going to leave me with beds my children couldn’t sleep in. When you are a single mom with no one standing beside you, women are taking such advantage of. I work 3 jobs and the move was already $900. Now it was $1000. They said I was rude because I was so upset that I hadn’t gotten to use the two hours I had previously paid for. Here’s the real kicker though. After I paid another $107 to have the beds put together, I went back to my old apartment and where they have moved the couch, they had ripped the flooring and did not mention one word to me that that had happened. When I reported it to the company, I was hung up on twice. It just amazes me how people will treat other people just for a buck. This company cared about nothing else. I should have known from the very beginning that the secretary acted like she was doing me a favor honoring the Groupon but yet a Groupon was never purchased by me. So in other words, they used Groupon to get business and not actually used Groupon but acted like, well we’re still going to honor it. So I guess it’s going to be a fight in small claims court to fix my flooring. On a side note, the movers were hard working and pretty fast, but the business is shady and does not care about people at all. I felt very upset, unheard and didn’t understand their rationale. When I spoke up on behalf of myself, I was hung up on twice. Please go with a company that insures your goods for their value and delivers on their promises. Very very disappointed. I am also in the process of filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Is it even legal to leave children’s beds in a condition that they cannot be slept in? What I’m finding out is that if they are taken apart by the movers, then they must be put back together. I will keep an update coming on here and am making a video of my experience. So sad that there are people out there who will literally treat others like that. They have no pride or concern for their reputation. So sad.

Scam

They will bait n switch you, and once you e paid a deposit expect to pay the full balance the night before despite no services being performed. They changed the contract three times and charged my card multiple times without authorization, didn't even tell me they kept charging me. Charged me for two hours dead time while employees were getting high only to discover my TV and an expensive lamp are missing. Owner doesn't return calls .. huge scam

$750 worth of damage.. $11 offer! BEWARE!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would! This company has some of the worse customer service I have ever experienced!
One of the movers was great but the other was a complete buffoon. Within 15 minutes of starting the process, he broke a vase of mine. I didn't make too much of a fuss about that though. The main reason for the review is because as he was TOSSING my packed items down the stairs of this townhome, he managed to break the railing off of the wall. I hear him telling his bosses that it wasn't his fault when he called them but he didn't have the consideration to apologize or take responsibility for this damage. Once complete, I filed a damage claim, expecting this to be a quick and efficient process, as the mover assured me it would be. Instead, I was told to get my own independent quote for repair as they "do not have anyone on staff capable of doing that type of work." After submitting photos and misc. other information requested, I was told to "be patient." I was then offered $11 dollars as compensation! The movers claimed that the railing had been damaged before and that it was poorly re-attached and that it fell off when he barely touched it! How ridiculous! I have called their offices many times and have yet to speak to anyone about my experience. They chose to take the word of a mover, who by their own admission, is not an expert at wall repair/railings rather than speaking to their PAYING (yes, they still charged me full price for the move) customer. WORSE BUSINESS I'VE EVER HIRED! BEWARE!!

Ocoee area movers dropped my fridge!

I chose this company after finding them on Groupon. They never verified my voucher, and still charged me an extra $200 that was not included on the Groupon. Shady but I agreed to the extra charge cause I just wanted to get the move done.

Day of the movers themselves were polite and hard workers. However their attentiveness is questionable at best as evidenced by the fact they rolled their hand truck off the walkway and into the grass at my old house, which caused them to drop my 1 year old Stainless Steel fridge face first in my driveway. At the new house they were worried about the clearance of the front door and tried to get me to remove the fridge doors, which is when I noticed they’d dented and scraped up the stainless handles pretty significantly. They eventually were able to get the fridge in without further incident (though they still made me personally remove my front door), and when all was said and done we got everything moved. Upon finalizing paperwork I asked the movers what happens if I sign off for no damages before I’ve had a chance to check the fridge properly and was assured if I encountered any damage to call the office and they’d take care of it. Sure enough after they left and I had to move my fridge into place myself I discovered the freezer was no longer closing properly as I felt the cold air on the side of the door and observed everything defrosting. I called the office as instructed that same night and filled out the damage claim.

The company did get back to me about a week later and informed me that the movers involved did acknowledge they dropped the fridge so they’d be willing to cover the scratches and dents, but won’t cover the freezer at all because I signed their paperwork that I wasn’t aware of any damage before they left.

This is clearly a company that doesn’t care about the position it puts their employees in and prevents them from doing the right thing to save a buck. I don’t understand how you can be allowed to acknowledge you dropped an appliance and did cause damage but refuse to cover the full damages you know you caused simply due to paperwork. If you use this company I sincerely hope they either take better care of your belongings, or you make sure to refuse to sign off on their paperwork until you’ve fully unpacked your house and had a chance to thoroughly inspect all of your belongings.

Mochas Moving, Fort Lauderdale

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY! It took Dante and Tommy 8 hours to move items for a one bedroom apartment. Firstly, they arrived two hours late, which resulted in them arriving at my condo building too late to move the contents (of a truck that was barely 1/3rd full) before the truck had to leave the parking lot as per condo association rules. While Tommy was trying to find a spot to park the truck on the road, the other mover Dante (who was efficient) had his hands tied because he couldn’t move anything by himself.

When they arrived, Tommy didn’t even get out of the truck for about half an hour, although the 4 hours I had booked them for, had started rolling. He took an extraordinarily long bathroom break. Lots of talking. Arguing as to how best to do things.

Granted there were challenges since I had two pickup points (a storage unit and a house), and most of the furniture couldn’t fit into the elevator. This resulted in them having to carry my furniture up two flights of stairs. I was informed that they had to carry furniture up 6 flights of stairs the previous day. Clearly, although Dante was willing, Tommy couldn’t be of much help. The man looked tired from the moment he arrived.

One piece of furniture they couldn’t get up the stairs. I had to promise them a big tip (literally gave them all the cash I had on me, amounting to $140) to try and get them to continue the job since Dante would constantly threaten to quit. This with my belongings sitting on the street outside their truck.

They undertook to dump two pieces of furniture that they couldn’t carry/got in. After they left, building security informed me that they had thrown one piece over a railing from the second floor in order to break it and put it in the building trash (which is not permissible), and they simply left the other piece at the entrance to the building. I then had to pay another company more than $200 to move it for me.

Mg total cost for this move was $376 up front (for four hours) plus $600 (for 4 additional hours) plus $75 extra due to a long carry, plus the $140 tip. That totals almost $1200, plus I had to pay another company to remove the pieces they had simply left behind.

As if this wasn’t enough, every single piece of furniture they brought is badly scratched, even those that were wrapped, andsmallinsize. Boxes were treated with disrespect and items broken.

May I add, everything was prepared prior to their arrival, for simple pickup. They took 8 hours to move a king size bed, coffee table, two 2’ bookshelves, two lamp tables, one sofa, a mirror, a small round dining table, a 6 seater dining table, a chest of drawers and two rugs. Also boxes.

And this cost me $1,400+ excluding damages.

Avoid this company at all costs!

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. THEY CHEATED ME OVER 2500.00. I was informed that this company was fully licensed and insured for damages and chose this company based on their reviews. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!! The movers damaged my wood flooring cabinet dresser and closet doors. I immediately called the company while the moves were onsite and they told me to submit a claim form. The movers were trying to force me to sign the document which i refused and they ran away quickly in their truck with no signed document.

I sent pictures of all the damages which are now available publicaly and i had a third party give me a quote of the wood flooring damages and sent all of ths information to the company. They did absolutely nothing. The owner was even to scared to even personally call me or even visit my home to see the damages. I was informed by his associate Charles that the "owner can only go by the drivers word 100% Charles further stated "I did not receive pictures of other damages" This is a lie because all the pictures were sent with the original file. "Can you imaging how horrified we were by these comments. The whole Team at this company are liarrs and they have no clue how to treat their customers. I left a message with the owner several times to at least call me and to least come and see the damages the movers have done and how it happened and had no courtesy to even call me or come visit my property. He hid behind Joanne and another guy named Charles as he was scared to talk on the phone. That is a sure sign that I was cheated and he just wanted to run away like any other crook

Anyhow, I have no choice but to take this matter to litigation. I tried not too but the owner refused to cooperate. I have also filed a formal complaint with the BBB. This company is going down in history and believe me folks i will do anything in my power to shut them down so they do not cheat another person in south florida. This is scary that we actually have movers like these in existence.

I am a Certified Fraud Examiner as my profession and this Company messed with the wrong person. Its like robbing a police officers house.

PUBLIC PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WALK AWAY. These guys are crooks and have fraudulent business practices. They claim they have insurance but when it comes time to making a claim they did nothing. Our family is horrified by this incident as we just recently purchased our home.

Pictures are noted below or the Public to see! Jochas Moving! YOU GUYS ARE GOING DOWN AND I WILL DO ANYTHING IN MY POWER TO MAKE SURE Y0UR COMPANY IS SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY FOR YOUR LACK OF RESPECT AND NOT COMPENSATING ME FOR THE DAMAGES YOU INCURRED.

Avoid at All Cost.

BE WARNED - this company is a threat to your TIME, MONEY, PROPERTY, and SAFETY. Do. Not. Hire. Them. I purchased 4 hours of moving services to move from a studio to a 2 bedroom, no couch, no entertainment center, no dining room table with elevators at both apartments. I ended up having to pay almost double what they quoted me. They took 4 hours just to pack the truck. They took
50 minutes to drive 20 minutes but were miraculously able to unload 4 hours of packing in less than 1 hour in order to make their next appointment. The reason the move took so long is because one of the movers spent much of my time hitting on me, asking me increasingly personal and inappropriate questions, asking me to meet up with him later, and hanging out on my balcony.

After the move was complete I walked out of my apartment and walked back in to find one of the movers digging through my purse where my credit cards, license, passport, and checkbook were
located. I then had to confront a grown man and criminal in my home, by myself while he tried to steal from me.

The company issued me a laughably small refund - not even covering the unexpected extra money that they forced me to pay for going over my time and then refused to speak with me. To this day
they refuse to give me the employees name so that I can file a police report to protect myself and my personal information. They say on their website they hire "Family and friends of family." They have no interest in protecting you or your property only their employees.

This company will send CRIMINALS into your home with your personal belongings and your family members – DO NOT HIRE
THEM. Whatever you receive as a quote – double that to account for the time their employees will waste hanging out in your house and making you feel uncomfortable. I cannot imagine the time and money you would spend if you were moving more than one person’s belongs. If you value your time, money, and safety STAY AWAY.

**AVOID, especially the Tampa crew**.

Let me start out by saying this- I have moved a lot in my life and thus have experienced many different moving companies, a few good, a few not so good.. I did not think it was possible to be as AWFUL as these guys were. It would be comical, if so much of our stuff wasn't destroyed..

We used these guys to move our office a few month ago. For starters, they sent two guys, both with limited logical abilities, but one with zero common sense or work ethic. One of the guys spent more time on the phone with his girlfriend/wife planning their night and complaining about how heavy things were than actually working, which left the other guy.. the one with a little work ethic to do things on his own. As a result of this, our small 900 square foot office move took 4.5 hours!

I basically have a photo album full of photos of damaged items. We are not super picky, mind you, we understand that things may get a little scuffed or get a few scratches during a move. That's the price of moving, right? Well, these guys managed to DESTROY things. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged. We had have to have an upholstery company repair two arm chairs that were torn. At one point, one guy (the one that actually worked) was trying to move a desk on his own, he lost control and put it through the wall before it hit the floor, severely damaging two things in one swift move. Impressive.. or not..

No big deal, because they're insured, right? HAHAHAHA! Well, they pay $0.60 per pound and don't cover anything constructed of particle board. Well, the desk that they put through the wall and rendered unusable, even though it was a $1000 desk from an office furniture company and not a $60 Ikea desk, the core was MDF, which they consider particle board so it was not covered, period. While I spoke with the Jochas guy that does insurance claims he agreed that it was not right, but they were still not paying out on it. He also said during our conversation, "this why I don't give my contact information out, a lot of people in Florida are armed."

They are used to being hated and they don't care because people keep hiring them. Do yourself a favor.. DON'T HIRE THESE GUYS!

Worst Moving Company Ever.

I would not recommend JoChas Moving Company. The company damaged our $1400 dining room set during our move and did nothing to compensate us for the damage. A claim was filed promptly as per directions from the movers, whom did not want to take responsibility for damaging the table. After weeks of unanswered calls and unreturned voicemails, JoChas finally spoke with us and told us they would give us $30 to repair the table ourselves, assuming we had the tools and experience to do so. We were told a check in the small amount of $30 would be mailed to us. Weeks later and we still have not received anything. Our move was in April and it is now August. This company is unprofessional and lacks the communication skills required to run a company. It is apparent that they have no respect for their clients and are only interested in completing a move, taking your money and moving on, whether or not you are satisfied with the job they have done. I will not be using this company again for my moving needs and will advise friends and family against using such a careless company.
